Lo Miller, LCSW
Therapist
I graduated from Chico State University in 2016 with two BAs in International Relations and Spanish. I studied abroad in Spain and Cuba during my undergrad and then continued my travels throughout my life where I have gained life-altering perspective and growth. I went back to graduate school in 2019 to complete my Master’s in Clinical Social Work and graduated in 2021. I have worked in various settings such as hospitals, hospice, foster care, and mental health sites. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced specific or prolonged trauma, mental health struggles, navigating healthy relationships, guidance with new medical diagnoses, financial anxiety, military/first responder families and more. I hold experience in crisis intervention, compassionate counseling with complex cases and individuals. I have expertise in educating individuals around death and dying or coping with new diagnoses. I also hold knowledge of addressing financial and psychosocial stressors with individuals and families with appropriate community resources.
Collaborative
My approach is strength-based therapy with a trauma informed lens. We all have a story, and I want to provide a safe and secure space for you to share yours. I want to build trust and understanding in our process. I love seeing the growth that individuals can obtain during this process! You already have the tools, allow me to help you find and embrace them.
Unique approach to fit your needs
I never have a one-size-fits all level of practice. You are unique, as should be your therapy. I will create space and time that is uniquely yours that will meet your needs.
Mind-body connection
Although talk therapy is powerful, the mind and the body have an innate connection that craves healing and vitality. I utilize yoga’s ideology and deep breathing interventions, mindfulness and self-reflection tools in my therapy practice for a more deep-rooted restoration. I believe being present with nature is a powerful force that offers natural catharsis. I am eager to meet you and begin some change for good!
“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” -Brené Brown
